Chinese New Yearalso known as the Spring Festival is an important Chinese festival celebrated at the turn of the traditional lunisolar Chines Calendar. It is one of severalLunar New Years in Asia. Celebrations traditionally run from the evening preceding the first day, to the Lantern Festival on the 15th day of the first calendar month. The first day of the New Year falls on the new moon between January 21 and February 20 In 2018, the first day of the Lunar New Year was on Friday, 16 February, initiating the year of the dog.

On Friday, 23rd February 2014 – the eighth day of the Chinese New Year celebrations, Elabram Systems in Indonesia celebrated the Chinese New Year Lion Dance performance at the office with the Deputy Managing Director, Sunny Yaw in attendance.

In Indonesia, the performance is usually called as Tarian Barongsai.

According to Dewi Sartika, ” The celebration started at 09.30 AM, there was opening performance session in our main entrance with two lions dance performance (red & yellow). They opened the ceremony by giving a plate of orange & pamelo to Sunny. We believe that those action will give prosperity, joy and success for Management & all PTES staffs. The dancer member continued to perform inside Sunny’s room, HR room, TAD room, Finance room, and all rooms at PT. Elabram Systems.
