“In the eternal words of Gandhi: “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” We give back because it teaches us find compassion within ourselves and to stay attached to values that are linked to common good.”

At Elabram Systems Indonesia just recently this year 2017, the recruitment team visited the panti Werdha Wisma Mulia that is located at Jl. Hadiah No 14-16 RT/RW 05/03, Grogol Petamburan, Jakarta Barat. 11460.

Background dari Panti Werdha Wisma Mulia

Panti Werdha Wisma Mulia has been established since 2008. This foundation mostly consist of old folks (Oma and Opa), and social workers who take care of them.

Some of the seniors  have no family anymore thus the facility became an aged care institution, and there are also some  who still have families but they do not want to take care of them. Some are also still single. Some of the daily activities includes;  Group praying, singing, gathering to greet the guests who come.

In this article, we would like also to share 3 reasons why giving back is important;

  1. Making a difference- It is not easy to reach out, alloting time and effort outside your comfort zone and even gathering your friends, family or colleagues, that’s hard. Giving back or volunteering is making a difference and showing empathy. sharing is one reason other people are happy. This is also one way to be grateful for the blessings we receive. Sharing is everything and can give definitely smile to other people faces.
  2. The most valuable things an entrepreneur can do.- We work hard, for what? Yes, for family. We are lucky that we have something to give. As the person earning also from others, giving back is one way to teach your family to be thankful. Do not forget, as what they say, when you share or give, you will receive more. It’s true and proven already.
  3. To feel human- Everyday, on my way to work, this guy a person with disability always knocked in my car window and  asked for alms. My husband and I without hesitation, always provide something, giving will not make us poor or rich but definitely have a value to that person.

This post is not convincing you to give but just to share how lucky and fortunate you all are. I know, sometimes you thought it’s the end of the world but then again, there’s always someone who has to face challenges that are even tougher than yours.

Please share your blessings!
